In our Where to Happy Hour series, we search Houston’s vast array of neighborhoods for the very best libations.
Running along the coastline, this charming bayside region is a breezy escape from the city.
The area is surrounded by bodies of water including Clear Lake, Clear Creek, and Galveston Bay; and while you should consider renting a boat or jet ski and getting out on the water itself, you can also check out some local gems for happy hour.
Note: For this list, the Clear Lake is the area in and surrounding the neighborhoods of Clear Lake, Webster, and Nassau Bay.
Where to Happy Hour in the Clear Lake Area
McIntyre’s NASA
With outposts across Houston, McIntyre’s has quickly become a local favorite.
This Webster location takes over the the former former Putt Putt Fun House, bringing with it the sports pub’s signature fun-loving patio bar vibe and killer TV setup.
Pop in for $5 to $7 weekday social hour specials from 22-ounce select drafts to Deep Eddy and Don Julio cocktails.
Weekdays from open to 7pm and all day Monday.
Nobi Public House
One of Houston’s coolest craft beer pubs lies in an unassuming strip mall in Webster.
Not only does Nobi Public House play host to a killer 200+ bottle and draft beer program that rivals any in the loop, it also dishes out fantastic Vietnamese-fusion pub grub.
Hit it for daily specials like pint nights and $9 bone-in pork chops with rice and a pint of beer on Tuesdays beginning at 4pm.
Preamble Craft Cocktail Lounge
With the premise that “we the people, have a right to superior cocktails,” sultry speakeasy Preamble Craft Cocktail Lounge focuses on refreshing classics done right.
At happy hour, those classics are $8.75, running the gamut from Moscow Mules and Old Fashioneds to Basil Gimlets and Classic Margaritas.
Sip them alongside discounted shareable plates like Chicken Pesto Flatbread, Hummus Boards, and Beef Sliders.
Rosewater
A cult-favorite craft cocktail bar and industry hangout, Rosewater’s happy hour features several wallet-friendly cocktails, including the $7 Rosewater House Martini kissed with rose water and Irish gin, $7 Pineapple Margaritas, $8 Blackberry Bourbon Sours, and a $7 Daily Frozie (ask your bartender what’s up for grabs).
Tack on the $8 Adult Lunchable, rocking things like prosciutto, crackers, and your choice of brie or honey clover gouda.
Tuesday through Friday 4pm to 6pm.
