- Houston Symphony presents A Very Merry Pops at Jones Hall | Thursday to Saturday – The Symphony’s annual holiday offering returns, bringing with it familiar favorites to make the rafters ring. The concert features the Houston Symphony Chorus and Broadway leading lady, Mandy Gonzalez, who’s featured in Hamilton and In the Heights. $40 and up. 7:30pm.
- Beers & Cheers at Saint Arnold Brewing | Friday & Saturday | FREE – Swing by the spacious Fifth Ward brewery for a Shop Local marketplace offering dozens of local vendors along with visits by Santa each day. Friday 2pm to 7pm; Saturday 11am to 5pm.
- Actor & Comedian Jeremy Piven at Houston Improv | Friday & Saturday – The Emmy-winning actor known for his role as Ari Gold in Entourage comes to the Spring Branch club for multiple comedy shows across two nights. $80 for 2, and up. Times vary.

- Houston Rockets vs. Dallas Mavericks at Toyota Center – Luka Doncic and the Mavs head south from Dallas to test the Rockets on their home court. $22 and up. 7pm.
- Beetle Reunion Concert at Continental Club – After a long-running residency that saw the group go into retirement earlier this year, Beetle will re-emerge for a holiday concert on the Mid-Main stage. $10. 7pm.

- Saturday Morning Cartoons at Houston Toy Museum – Stop by the Heights museum for a morning of holiday episodes of classic cartoons like Flintstones, Smurfs, Alvin and the Chipmunks and more along with a milk and cereal buffet. $14; free for kids in holiday pajamas. 10am.
- Blood Drive at Houston Arboretum & Nature Center | FREE – Give a lifesaving gift this holiday weekend at a Gulf Coast Regional Blood Drive taking place at the Arboretum. Sign up for a slot and receive a voucher for a free Arboretum Individual Membership when you successfully donate. 10am to 2:30pm.
- The Black Angels Collective presents Heaven & Earth at Wortham Center – This end-of-year dance concert features two full-length ballets performed with live and recorded instrumentation, live vocalists and special guests. The Collective’s debut is a result of the collaboration between Houston rap artist Tobe Nwigwe, dance academies, and the Institute of Contemporary Dance. $29 and up. 7pm.
- Festivus for the Rest of Us at Holler Brewing Co. | No Cover – Based on the holiday Festivus from Seinfeld, this event will begin with the raising of the Festivus pole, followed by the “Airing of Grievances” and conclude with “feats of strength” at the Arts District brewery. 7pm.
- The Grand Ol’ Christmas Show with Blue Water Highway at the Heights Theater – This one-of-a-kind musical comedy from Will Hearn brings a live retro radio show to the stage, complete with sketch comedy antics, Christmas classics and a tribute to the holiday tradition. Americana artists Blue Water Highway will also be around to perform tunes live. $32 and up. 8pm.
- Numbers Christmas Party at Numbers Nightclub – The iconic Montrose club celebrates Christmas with a gigantic prize giveaway that includes a 65? 4K television, a Classic Numbers lifetime pass, a laptop, and more. Cover at the door. 9pm to 2am.

- Houston Texans vs. Cleveland Browns at NRG Stadium – In their second-to-last home game, the Texans host the Browns with playoff hopes on the line. $60 and up, but you may find better or cheaper seats on the online ticket resale market. Noon.
- Magical Winter Lights at Katy Mills – Open on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, the twinkling spectacle in Katy enters its final weeks to stroll a winter wonderland across several themes, decked out in millions of lights. $25; $18 for ages 3 to 12 and 65+; free for ages 2 and under. - The 8th Wonder Comedy Hour at the Secret Group – Catch one last comedy hour before the holidays, hosted by Connor Carter, Mason James and Luis Dejesus. Admission gets you an 8th Wonder beer along with a signature pint glass to take home. $10. 6:30pm to 8:30pm.
- Performing Arts Shows on Christmas Eve – Several productions will have a Christmas Eve performance—in some cases, their final shows. You can check out the last glimpses of Cinderella and The Ugly X-mas Sweater Musical at Hobby Center; A Motown Christmas at Ensemble Theatre; Houston Ballet’s The Nutcracker; Alley Theatre’s A Christmas Carol; and final shows for Stages, Always…Patsy Cline and Panto Alicia in Wonderland.
