Nearly 4,000 square feet of retail space is being allocated for an upcoming Italian restaurant located at the shopping center on the corner of Buffalo Speedway and the Westpark Drive, adjacent to West University Place's Plaza in the Park.
Magdalena's Pizza and Trattoria is slated to open at 5110 Buffalo Speedway, Ste. B, per a filing with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation. The TDLR filing states construction on the $400,000 project began in August.
According to the restaurant's website, Magdalena's will serve Italian cuisine, including elevated dishes such as oven-roasted branzino, baked quail and braised veal, as well as pasta dishes such as potato gnocchi, chicken cacciatore and sweet corn ravioli with lobster. Pizza options include marinara, margherita, Sicilian and gluten-free options. An extensive wine list will also be available.
The restaurant's name gives homage to Chef Nicolas Nikic's mother, Magdalena.
